We recently completed a whole home renovation with FineCraft Contractors as our builder. In addition to all new windows and hardwoods throughout, they added a substantial addition to the back of the home. From the start, FineCraft understood the complexities of the project and gave us a fair quote that beat several competitors. They were able to work within our budget to accommodate all of the big items and most of the small items on our wishlist. With a 150 year old townhouse in DC, it was important to us to retain as much character as possible. Working with our architect, FineCraft had many thoughtful suggestions that elevated the finished product. When an issue arose on the job site they were very proactive and creative in finding a solution to continue moving forward. My wife and I especially appreciated that FineCraft employs a dedicated buyer whose job is to source all products and materials. We did the shopping and FineCraft took over the responsibility of purchasing and delivering (and returning when necessary). That kept the project on track. Another nice touch is that they cleaned the house from top to bottom before we moved in, even providing lovely bath towels, handsoap and dispensers. It’s a little thing, but at the end of a long project, and a long day of moving, it showed their care and level of detail. We would recommend using FineCraft.

Wow, where to begin. FineCraft was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. As first time homeowners, we were quite anxious looking for reliable contractors after hearing so many horror stories, but boy did FineCraft deliver. The craftsmanship and care of the contracting team, including Selvyn, Otto, and Saul was absolutely incredible. They would also regularly go above and beyond to accommodate any last minute adjustments we asked for. My wife and I loved how they would offer meaningful aesthetic opinions on the various projects as well. The administration was similarly excellent. Nick, our project manager, telescoped out every single step, was 100% transparent on pricing, and was responsive at nearly every hour of the day over text. He even helped facilitate while we had to go out of town during construction by sending us updates over seas. Aside from their competence, it was refreshing that every person we spoke to was incredibly sweet, patient, and willing to help. While FineCraft is slightly pricier (honestly not by much) relative to other contractors we spoke to, they are worth every penny. They really set an incredibly high bar for professionalism. We will only be working with this team from now on.

We have Finecraft doing a large renovation project for us — two room additions, a kitchen remodel, and updating the rest of our main floor of our family home. I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to work of Fine craft Contractors for a very long time. The first time Owner and principal George Papaheraklis and I initially contracted with me was in 1987 almost 35 years ago! One can immediately ascertain that George has Architectural Training and an artistic eye merely by the way he could anticipate the next design move and and the way he can finesse meticulous details with visually graceful solutions. Our Attention to detail and the minutia are often a challenge for many general contractors but George leans into these challenges with a positive attitude and productive energy. One particular ecfample was the sculpture above the front door of our Midcentury addition and renovation. Initially a flea market fragment, DLA's last minute detailing required stone and steel. This could have been vocalized with frustration but instead was met by George Papaheraklis with passion and has become the crowning jewel of the composition. A client once heard George saying under his breath that his quest for good construction is "life sustaining" for him. Since we first met decades ago, his close knit staff has grown; in both size and professionality. One of our mutual projects was of particular challenge. However it was constructed methodically and intelligently along with Vivian who is integral to FineCraft's efficiency, stream lined production and "can do" nature. This was was no small task especially as two prjects they have worked with us on took place in the middle the pandemic. Dasha, Niko and Patrick who I have worked with personally are all a part of the caliber FineCraft Contractors brings to the table and table saw!

We completed a major addition and renovation project with Finecraft in February of 2023. The construction took almost 9 months and we are thrilled with the result! The entire project came out beautifully and everyone who visits us raves about the quality and care with which the work was done. Due to special family circumstances, one of our requirements was to remain in our house during the construction. Finecraft respected our wishes and worked with us to limit the disruption to our everyday lives as much as possible. We were so impressed with the helpfulness and professionalism of the entire Finecraft team! They were truly a pleasure to work with. Finecraft was a pleasure to work with. We completed a full renovation with them at the end of 2019. Their work was great and they couldn’t have been nicer people to work with. George and Vivian were always a pleasure and truly understand how to work with an owner while going through such a big project. They were not the cheapest group we could find, but they certainly were not the most expensive either. The fact that they have been in business for so long and have established a strong reputation gave us confidence that they could get the job done and done well. The reason I’m writing this now, is that almost 4 years later, our shower sprung a leak. This was clearly outside the warranty period, but after a quick call and walk through with the fine craft team, they agreed to cover the labor and were able to get our shower back in working order quickly. No fighting or chasing them down needed. They truly stand by their craftsmanship and are just downright good people. I highly recommend them for any project you are working on. Take it from someone in the real estate business, it is worth paying a little extra to get a contractor you can trust and that will actually show up when you need them to. I know of too many horror stories of friends that went with the lowest cost provider only to have their project delayed or significantly over budget because of a poorly run/shady contractor. 10/10 recommend Finecraft!

We had a unique and complicated design for our mid century home renovation and FineCraft was up for the challenge. They were excited about working on a different project and threw themselves into making it a beautiful home for us. We are very happy with the quality of the end product.

The relationship lasts well after the end of the renovation! Years after we moved into our home renovated by FineCraft, a freak storm incident caused water to enter our house from the roof (through no fault of FineCraft’s), damaging interior walls and floors. And of course, it happened in the middle of the night on a holiday. We made the “9-1-1” calls to our insurance company and ServPro, which responded right away to address the interior water remediation, but the particular franchise assigned to our emergency was unable to handle the exterior roof work—we were on our own. I reached out to FineCraft for help and they responded immediately. Two roofing companies, including one referred by ServPro, came out as well. FineCraft was the only firm creative and experienced enough to think of and execute a comprehensive, longterm solution that would not adversely affect the exterior design of our home. Moreover, their solution was by far the most cost effective. I already tell people that I’d trust FineCraft with my life, and the commitment and integrity they displayed in helping us during this moment of dire need (occurring well after the end of their construction and warranty period) exemplifies why. When FineCraft say they’ll always have your back, they mean it.
